Tangent designed this series of sculptures for Grand Seiko's exhibition, aiming to encapsulate the universal nature of time by embedding components of a mechanical watch within stone. The components, persistently in motion much like a human heart, serve as a reminder that a shared undercurrent of time courses through both our existence and the steadfast stone.

セイコーウォッチ主催の展示会 Seiko Seed Exhibition「からくりの森2023」にて、セイコーの技術の中でも長い歴史を持つ、機械式腕時計を題材に「Heart of time」を制作しました。機械式腕時計の部品を石に埋め込むことで、時間の普遍性の可視化を表現しています。人の心臓を模した位置で動き続けるその部品は、人間の心のように不断に動き続け、私たちの存在と不変の石の中にも共有の時間の流れがあることを思い出させてくれます。
